Whirlow Farm Visit

Wow! What an amazing day out we had at Whirlow Farm. We had a farm tour where we saw lots of amaZing and smelly animals!

After lunch we told The Little Red Hen story using props, actions and our voices. We went to find the hen, cat bull and rat and helped the Little Red Hen make her bread.

We even got to try some of the bread at the end because of all the hard work we put in to helping her plant and collect the wheat.

We have learnt so much about the farm animals and where our food comes from and we cannot wait to get back to school and write our recounts.

For the last couple of weeks y1rm have been enjoying having some new classmates in the form of guinea pigs Vanilla and Fudge. We love our guinea pigs and they like to run around our classroom whilst we do our guided reading. image

Blunderbus

Today was a very exciting day in phase 1. The children’s  theatre company ‘Blunderbus’ performed for us. They performed an exciting version of the story ‘Hugless Douglas’, complete with singing. Our children had a fantastic time and loved when Mrs Morton had a bear fall asleep on her. We can’t wait for next time! image image
